Scott’s insurance career began over 30 years ago as an insurance broker in London, going on to establish Matrix some 22 years ago.

Scott has established an international reputation for designing bespoke insurance and capital markets solutions to credit enhance large and often complex transactions.

Scott enjoys close working relationships with leading global private equity funds, strategic investors, insurance and reinsurance companies, banks, institutional lenders and governments.

Having worked with virtually every sector of the economy over the previous 30 years means Scott is singularly well equipped to drive global opportunities and to demonstrate to Matrix clients how the combination of financing, with alternative risk transfer solutions, can help Matrix clients to achieve optimum outcomes.

Alan has worked with Matrix since the Company was first established; initially in a consulting capacity and, latterly as Chief Operating Officer.

With extensive Executive experience gained in both the private and public sectors, most notably as Company Secretary & Head of Legal for a FTSE 250, multi billion company, for more than 20 years.

Alan is a Fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute.

Alison is leads and is responsible for the our M&A insurance due diligence team and all M&A transaction related activity.

A highly qualified insurance professional with more than 20 years experience, Alison is a specialist in strategic project management and programme analysis.

Alison joined Matrix from a global insurance broker where she led the delivery of responses to key client tenders and RFP’s for businesses with global operations.

Alison has a very strong, in-depth knowledge across all classes of insurance business including property, casualty, financial and specialist lines.

Robin heads up our corporate project team. He has been responsible for delivering hundreds of successful insurance projects for companies.

He is an insurance and risk management specialist with experience gained in more than 30 years working on insurance projects for some of the world’s largest insurance brokers where he designed, co-ordinated and managed programmes for clients such as DHL, Reuters, SmithKline Beecham and DeLa Rue.

His knowledge of all aspects of the insurance markets, broking process and risk financing, servicing and management processes helps our corporate clients to achieve the optimum mix of cover, service and premium.

Daniel is responsible for the day-to-day management of our USA team including operations, legal, compliance, due diligence, insurance consulting and brokerage.

A seasoned insurance industry executive and practicing attorney with over 30 years-experience, Daniel is also a licensed insurance broker and an expert in environmental law and environmental insurance.

Daniel has held executive-level positions at major insurance and financial services companies and his diverse law practice has included insurance coverage and licensing, corporate, finance and litigation matters at a number of prominent firms in New York City.

He is licensed to practice law in New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts as well as various U.S. District Courts. Daniel’s diverse experience provides Matrix USA the solid foundation of a senior executive the firm needs to ensure success.

An actuary by background, Paul brings 40 years’ experience to Matrix as an underwriter, broker, actuary and corporate director, having most recently served as Chief Underwriting Officer of Everest Re’s structured reinsurance program in London.

Before that Paul spent time as head of reinsurance strategy and analytics at Holborn Corporation in New York.

Paul is an experienced senior-level manager in the insurance industry holding profit and loss responsibility for activities including managing capital, risk and due diligence.

Paul has served as a Director of regulated insurance entities, including those domiciled in Bermuda, and has been active in both the London and New York markets. He also has experience raising capital for Insurers and related businesses.

Paul received his Bachelor of Science from Notre Dame’s Honors Program in Mathematics. He received his MBA (with honors) from Columbia University.

Recognized as a ‘2021 At Large Power Broker’, Brendan has targeted expertise working with clients in the technology industry, and has developed a variety of insurance quantification models and risk transfer products.

An area of expertise for Brendan is Green Tech – Solar, Wind, Biofuels, and Fuel Cells, which Brendan has developed a variety of new insurance quantification models and risk transfer products for this emerging industry. These include:

– Extended Warranty Coverage (up to 25 years)
– Project specific power output warranty coverage
– EPC output warranty coverage
– Tax Equity Coverage
– Loss of Use Coverage due to Weather.

Brendan is an Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and has over 25 years senior insurance industry experience, having served previously at AJ Gallagher as SVP and Alliant as a Senior Managing Director.

Nicholas (Nick) is a highly regarded member of the London Insurance Community having worked in and around Lloyds of London for 30+ years as both Broker and Underwriter in various classes of insurance. During that time has successfully underwritten many transactions in various asset fields including Aviation, Marine, Real Estate, Equipment and other Transportation. Nick is one of a handful of recognised RVI Underwriters in the world.

Nick began his Underwriting career in 2005 with QBE and since then he has also worked for Barents Re and QIC Global.

Prior to starting Underwriting Nick worked in the Lloyds broking market for Companies such as Sedgwick (Marsh), Leslie and Godwin and Heath Lambert.

Alan Thompson is head of Government Affairs and International Strategic Business Development supporting Matrix in achieving its vision championing a new wave of economic development through deployment of ESGRC metrics, unlocking greater potential and delivering outstanding results for the triple bottom line: People Planet Prosperity.

Alan is responsible for managing and engaging with all key stakeholders across industry and Government. This includes Supranational development banks and structures, Governments, institutional investors, and large financial groups.

With a background in international trade and development combined with Space industry experience gives a new perspective to sustainable development and the realisation of multilateral infrastructure projects and challenges.

Lloyd’s Reinsurance career started at QBE Re in 2001 as an Underwriting Assistant within the Credit and Surety division. Whilst progressing through various class assets during his 11 year tenor becoming a fully-fledged Underwriter of the International Casualty portfolio.

Lloyd was then hired by Markel International as Senior Underwriter to deputise the running of the UK motor portfolio in London. With the acquisition of Alterra Syndicate, Lloyd further established broker and client relationships Internationally.

For the last 10 years Lloyd has been providing Structured and Excess of Loss Reinsurance solutions having held Senior Underwriting positions at Markel International and Qatar Re.

Simons knowledge and experience has been gained at management level in a number of macro-economically vital sectors in a management career spanning 20 years.

Simons sector specific experience includes International Security Solutions, Oil & Gas, Mergers & Acquisitions, and most latterly, Insurance and Finance.

This well rounded management experience enables Simon to facilitate as an effective conduit across all specialist areas of service delivery.
